Rambling.

A stream might ramble: Curving, twisting and roiling over rocks. A vine could too: Sprawling without purpose other than to cover ground. Maybe I’m a rambler: A wandering soul, traveling from one place to the next in search of… whatever cliché it is that we’re all searching for. Maybe this passage is rambling-overthought and undercooked-an amalgam of words, uncertain of its beginning or ending.

This site is designed as a collection of the author’s ramblings: From tales of travel and adventure to poetry wrought with emotion, prose dripping with imagery and articles designed to make you think, these pieces are an accumulation of the author’s best stories. After all, she is-at her core-a storyteller.

About the author

Gray

She’s always been a daydreamer. Born in Texas and raised on the East Coast, Gray longed for wide open spaces and a place where she could see the skyline. She never quite felt like she could breathe under the density of those eastern trees.

At twenty-two, she bought a travel trailer and headed west with her dog in tow, working seasonally for the Bureau of Land Management and US Forest Service for five years doing odd jobs.

She’s kayaked in oceans from Maine to Florida, backpacked the mid-Atlantic, hiked from coast to coast and packed a string in rough country. She hasn’t yet found her peace-a lifelong battle with mental health persists-but she knows it resides somewhere in the Rocky Mountains. She has two horses, one dog and one cat who keep her humble, a husband who remains unnaturally patient, and a longing for authentic interaction that keeps her writing.

I know of a place with a fleeting summer,
where mules are known by branded number…
